Susan Lodge

Susan Lodge

I was born in England’s West Country and spent my first years amongst strawberry fields, caves and orchards. Leaving home at eighteen I headed for London and embarked on a career in the Civil Service – gaining a Science degree along the way.
I have been writing stories for ever but only in the last few years marketed my work. A short story published in a National UK magazine was my first success which spurred me on to seek a publisher for 'Only a Hero Will Do',my first historical romance.

My second publication, a contemporary rom/com ,'The Man in the Blue Flowered Shorts' was published by Musa publishing in July. The sequel 'The Man in The Buff Breeches' is due at the end of the year. Both stories are contemporary, but I have a bit of fun with the Regency period during the plot.

I love spell checks, piano, swing dance and musical theater. My ambition has always been to travel into space, but as the years roll by it looks less likely, unless I write a bestseller and can book a place on Richard Branson’s first flights.

It was ten years ago when his father gambled away his inheritance, home, and any chance of marrying the woman he loved. So when Robert discovers Hetty gambling he takes drastic action to cure her of the habit.
